Stanway Rovers Women is a growing football community built around a clear, long-term vision: to break down barriers and keep girls and women actively playing football. Over the past two years, we have intentionally rebuilt our women's section to remove the traditional drop-off that so often happens after U18s. By creating a direct, supported pathway for players moving straight from U16s into adult football, we are breaking down barriers, keeping girls in the game, and bridging the gap between youth and women's football.
That vision is already delivering results on the pitch. Following an outstanding season, our First Team has earned promotion and will compete in Division 2 for 2026/27. The strength of our pathway is reflected directly in that success—many of our promoted squad were U17s last season, including our overall leading goalscorer. As we look ahead, the future of the club continues to take shape with a large cohort of last year's U16s making the transition into our Reserve team. At Stanway Rovers, we aren't just building a senior team for today; we are creating a sustainable, thriving home for the future of women's football.
